Spa Treatment
Cece's doctor just called. The Spa Treatment seems to be a success. No further treatment necessary. Can I get an "Amen", somebody?

About Comments
We are aware that some of you have posted or tried to post comments. Well, I can see that comments have been made, but I can't seem to get them to show. I'm not ignoring you - would love to see the comments, actually - , but I haven't figured Blogger out yet. If anyone knows the secret, please email me at bill.mcgloughlin@gmail.com. Thanks.
Thanksgiving
It's the afternoon of Thanksgiving Day. A quiet Thanksgiving, for certain. If you don't know what I'm thankful for today, you might want to read my older posts. But I'll save you the effort. What I am most thankful for seems to be asleep a few feet to my right, wrapped up in a plaid blanket. I have known for years that I am extravagantly and confoundingly blessed, but sometimes God reminds us in terms and ways that we can't ignore. So, this Thanksgiving, I pray that you all see your blessings as clearly as I see mine, if not as dramatically.

Married Life
My wife has hospital hair. That means nothing fancy; she can;t lift anything, including the hair dryer. Hence, after her shower today I had to hold the dryer. Love, Honor, cherish, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera. It's all good. Very, very good.

Be It Ever So Humble
Beautiful Bride is home! I picked her up about noon. She got home and now it't time for pajamas and Criminal Minds. She's under doctor's orders to lift nothing heavier than a coffee cup for six weeks. Or a remote control or a telephone. So be it. She's home! Happy Thanksgiving!
Spa Treatment Ending
We've been referring to the surgery as Cece's spa treatment. She should be coming home this afternoon for rest and pampering. Laying down, yes; lifting, no.
It's amazing what a few hours sleep can do. As much as it helped me, I cam only imaging what it did for Cece last night. Yesterday afternoon she slept a lot and I read a non-literature novel. (Thank you, Dean Koontz) Thanks again to everybody: my parents for taking custody of Joe, my parents and Aunt Fran fir coming to sit with me at the hospital, my sister Karen for driving Joe to Scouts - sorry about your car - the folks who brought food and gifts, and to everyone for thoughts and especially prayers. I'm moved and amazed how many people have offered prayers for Beautiful Bride. Keep it up, please, the biopsies aren't back yet.
Be well, stay safe, and have a joyous Thanksgiving. I think you all know what I'm thankful for.

Post-Game Analysis
Hi Everybody!
I didn't know if there was wi-fi access at the hospital and I wasn't inclined to trust the security if they did, so I left the computer at home. Now, here's the big update:
I didn't know if there was wi-fi access at the hospital and I wasn't inclined to trust the security if they did, so I left the computer at home. Now, here's the big update:
- Cece went into surgery at 7:42 am this morning, and the doctor came out top talk to us at about 9:30 am. Went a touch faster than predicted, but not too fast.
- He said the procedure went very well. no big surprises, no unexpected complications. Cancer was small; Good sign. Removed uterus, fallopian tubes, ovaries and some lymph nodes. Pretty much as advertised.
- They gave Cece a pregnancy test (!?), then had her sign not one, but TWO forms acknowledging that she understood that after this surgery she can't have any more children. Two forms.
- Finally saw her again about three hours after surgery. She looked tired and a bit wrung out, but I guess that's how you feel after sleeping for a couple of hours, not really eating, and having a machine pull some internal organs out. Still, all things considered, she feels good, wants to come home.
- The staff at Carolinas Medical Center ia taking great care of her. I still don't recommend the procedure if you don't need it, but the staff is great.
I also want to thank the folks (you know who you are) who left stuff in the cooler on the back porch. Much appreciated! Now, I'm signing off. I've been up since 3:30 am and this train's heading for the cliff. Thanks again, and keep praying.
And Away We Go
Couple of hours sleep. No coffee. She should be in surgery in about three hours. Keep those prayers coming - I've been there since November 6th. I should have more information to post this afternoon. If you're into such, Sts. Peregrine (Cancer) and Luke )Physicians) would probably be in order. Don't know if there;s a patron for robots .. Sorry. Punchy. See y'all later.

Meet the Doctor
We're preparing. Can't really say we're looking forward to the procedure, but we are looking forward to it all being over. (Where have I heard that before?) Anyway, the procedure will be done by a robot, so I figured I'd introdice the doctor. Just a bit confused, though. I'm pretty sure it's one of these, maybe.
One of these.

Careful What You Ask For
Well, well, well. This is what I get for saying we were ready to be done with this. The doctor's office just called and told me that surgery has been moved up 2 days and 6 hours. Looks like time to knock it over and start again. It all works for God's will, right? Absolutely.
My Hero
OK, no gloom and doom. Laughing at trouble makes it smaller. Cece's been taking iron supplements - anemia and all that. I can't help wondering if there are any side effects ...
First Post
Well, the header pretty much sums it up. We're ready to be done with this, done and done. Surgery day is coming up - not putting that out on the web, security and all that - but definitely ready for done and done. We're trusting the doctors on this. This procedure is done thousands of times every year. They use a robot - DaVinci they call it, Dave to it;s friends - so they should know what everything they will find means. Not quite to counting it down, but so, so close.
This blog, Caring For Cece, is supposed to be a way to update you who, well, Care For Cece, in case I, with my CRS, don't get emails out to everyone. Again, thanks and God bless you. More as id develops.
